Axis' Commitment to the C-19 Pledge

Axis Group signed up to the C-19 Business Pledge in May 2020, supporting closer collaboration between businesses during the Covid-19 pandemic.


The brainchild of former UK Cabinet Minister, Justine Greening and UK entrepreneur David Harris, the pledge commits its signatory organisations to helping overcome immediate challenges faced by employees, customers and the community as a result of Covid-19; and to supporting longer term rebuilding.

Throughout the Covid-19 crisis, Axis Group has adapted its service delivery, guidelines, procedures, standards and the management and support of its employees in line with government guidelines.


A few actions and initiatives taken are:


· Wrkit Employee Platform promoting wellbeing through various resources;

· Recognition Programme allowing employees to praise and recognise each other’s’ efforts and teamwork during these difficult times;

· Move Exercise Programme encouraging at home fitness;

· Wellbeing Workshop series in collaboration with Jason Brennan, Director of Leadership & Wellness at Wrkit & Founder of Thinkwell;

· Regular surveying which assessed employees’ wellbeing;

· Mind UK material communicated and distributed on a regular basis;

· Wellbeing and mental health communication distributed via email, newsletters, website, social media.;

· Regular communication from the Government, NHS, National CSSC, PHE Partnership, City of London Crime Prevention Association about various actions and initiatives about COVID-19.

· Axis Group launched Wagestream during the pandemic, to support the financial resilience of our employees. This fintech solution allows Axis employees to track their income, instantly access their earned wages, save as well as giving them access to financial education.


Axis is one of the 135 ''Service with Respect'' campaigners organised by The Institute of Customer Service, supporting UK’s workforce working in customer-facing roles and adopting a zero tolerance approach to hostility.



The Axis Academy has been delivering Level 1, 2 and 3 Mental Health training, providing the required knowledge to identify suspected mental health conditions, skills to initiate a conversation around mental health, first aid action plan and know how to implement a positive mental health culture in the workplace. The Supervising First Aid for Mental Health Course - Level 3, provides the knowledge to recognise a wide range of mental health conditions and learn about the support/therapy provided by professional healthcare providers.


CSR is important for Axis; one of the initiatives was helping the community by donating money to provide school children free meals in collaboration with The Harvey Centre.

Axis has also has become a corporate partner to the NHS Forest, a project that supports the health and wellbeing of patients, staff and communities by increasing access to green spaces on or near NHS land. The partnership between is in support and appreciation of the extraordinary work conducted by the NHS staff during such challenging and unprecedented times.

During the coronavirus pandemic, Axis has provided professional deep cleaning services for businesses across the UK. Also one of the few companies in the UK able to offer the Covid-19 virus killing Clorox sanitising system. This innovative electrostatic sprayer delivers a sanitising solution to the front, back and sides of surfaces within seconds. Axis is also using a variety of products including Zoono, a unique, antimicrobial technology that bonds to any surface and kills pathogens including bacteria, viruses, algae, fungi and mould.


Axis has produced ‘’Navigating the New Normal’’ clear guidelines for clients and employees and introduced measures in offices for safe working, assessing risks and protecting individuals.


Axis Cleaning were also proud winners of 6 awards at the ‘’Loo of the Year Awards’’ and received many other commendations for our overall high standard cleanliness and the effective Covid-19 measures put in place.

We have tried to be as close as possible to our employees and ensure their wellbeing.



As an ongoing process, consultations and speaking with our officers and continuing to engage with them to understand any potential health concerns or vulnerabilities that they may have. For example, whether they are shielding anyone at home or taking into account the views of all employees, including any fears and anxieties surrounding their return to the workplace.


We have amended our monthly site visit form to record telephone contact when face-to-face visits were not possible, have put a lot of work into our Workplace COVID-19 Risk Assessments and despite working during a pandemic our staff still managed to report 532 near misses over a period of 12 months and in doing so, reduced the overall accident figure by 107 on the previous year.
